In an ongoing effort to bring you the very best products and services, we are excited to announce that we will be upgrading our servers to PHP 8.2. In addition to improved data processing, which can boost site speed and performance, you’ll gain increased security. Newer versions of PHP have more frequent security updates to help protect your site against unwanted hacks or malware.
When will this happen:
Server upgrades will begin on or around November 11, 2024. It may take a few weeks to complete all the upgrades. While this update will be automated, and we expect no impact to your experience, you may want to take an opportunity set your site to use PHP 8.2. This will allow you to assess the functionality important to your site. The process only takes a few clicks on your end. See how to upgrade:
If the update is successful, no further action will be required on your part, and you will immediately begin experiencing the advantages of this new version. If you do encounter issues with adopting PHP 8.2 make sure that your plugins and themes are fully compatible.
Why is this required?
As new PHP versions are released every year, old PHP versions are retired. Eventually, the older versions of PHP will be removed, and sites will be forced to adopt a newer, supported version.
Most up to date WordPress sites will perform well with the new PHP versions. If you are currently running an older version of WordPress we recommend you update as soon as possible. Doing so will provide you with more features, better performance, and improved security.
