Note: This notice is relevant solely to accounts that will receive email communication.
Following our previous notification on 21-Oct-2024, we would like to inform you that we are starting to send another email to your registered email address with the migration schedule of your Windows hosting services to a unified platform, and an automatic upgrade of your PHP version to at least version 5.6.
Key Changes:
PHP Version: The server no longer supports PHP 5.5 or older. For the websites to keep running, we'll automatically update them to at least version 5.6.
Database Migration: The databases will be migrated to a new configuration. MySQL databases will be moved to a local MySQL database, and MSSQL databases will be moved to a remote MSSQL database.
Email Migration: We will transition from MailEnable to SmarterMail, a more advanced and reliable email platform.
Action Required:
Email Sending Scripts: Please ensure your email scripts are updated to include authentication before sending emails. This is a requirement for the new platform.
PHP Upgrade: If you are currently using PHP version 5.5 or below, please be aware that it will no longer be supported in the new Plesk version. We recommend you start working with your developer to upgrade your code, application, theme, or plugin to support higher versions.
Will there be a DNS change?
Yes, there will be a DNS change for the mail server. While the web hosting server name will change, the IP address will remain the same. However, since the email service will be migrated to Smartermail, the IP address associated with the mail A record will need to be updated.
If your domain uses third-party name servers, make sure to update your mail A-Record after the migration to prevent extended service interruptions. Refer to the new mail A record provided above.
For domains using our name servers, our Admins Team will handle the DNS changes.
Will my email services be affected?
No, your email services will remain fully operational during and after the upgrade. However, please ensure your email scripts are updated to include authentication before sending emails. This is a requirement for the new platform.
You can access your email accounts anywhere using any web browser via this log-in URL: https://webmail.yourdomain.com/ (replace yourdomain.com with your exact domain name). Enter your email address in the Email Address field, then type in your existing Password.
Will this cost me more?
No, there will be no additional costs and changes to your billing cycle.
What’s Next?
Please complete the required action mentioned above, as you will not receive any further notifications about your scheduled migration.
Thank you for your cooperation as we work together to ensure a smooth and successful update.
